So, I'm watching MEAN GIRLS again for the millionth time and I realize its my comfort show for 2 main reasons. #1 reason is because I relate to Cady being homeschooled, and joining the real world of society. I remember my first day returning back to school from being homeschooled for 5 years, I was so nervous, feeling so insecure about not knowing anyone, unaware of how high school works with switching classes and such. Lunch was a beast in itself, I felt so out of place, afraid to sit at the wrong table, taking someone's spot, it was rough. So I roughed it out in the bathroom most days or hid out in the gym. This uncomfortable transition I had made from homeschool to public was a pivotal moment in my life. It was a time to create who I wanted to be. However... I was terrified to BE, feeling as if I needed to be someone else for acceptance as I navigate this new life. my fear of being seen and heard was taking over my chance to be. But I see that girl.
